| Vesak is the time to remember the three great events
in the life of Lord Buddha - birth, enlightenment and passing away. Each event represents
a turning point that leads humanity to a better future.
In 1999, United Nations has recognized Vesak as an important day for Buddhists around the world and has held ceremonies commemorating this thrice-sacred day ever since. This year, the United Nations will hold Vesak Celebration from May 14 to May 17 in Hanoi, Vietnam.
